Concept to Design to ProductionOur Offerings
From concept and design through to full production, PFS Plastics provides specialist thermoforming solutions, combining technical expertise with high-quality manufacturing across a wide range of materials and thicknesses.
Concept
Every project begins with understanding your requirements. PFS Plastics works with clients at the concept stage to explore the most effective approach to producing thermoformed components, considering function, appearance and cost efficiency.
By identifying the right manufacturing approach early, we help ensure projects move smoothly into development and production.
Design & Development
During the design and development stage we work with you and specialist partners to refine component designs and ensure they are suitable for thermoforming. Early technical input can improve part performance, reduce tooling complexity and optimise material usage.
Our role is to guide the process and coordinate development so that designs translate effectively into production.
Prototyping & Tooling
Prototyping and tooling are key stages in the thermoforming process. PFS Plastics works with experienced partners to develop prototype parts and the tooling required for efficient production.
Prototype components allow designs to be assessed, tested and refined before moving into full manufacture, helping to ensure the final product meets both functional and visual requirements.
Once designs are confirmed, suitable tooling is produced to enable consistent and repeatable production of thermoformed parts.
Thin Sheet Thermoforming
Thin sheet thermoforming is ideal for producing lightweight components and packaging inserts with consistent detail and finish. PFS Plastics can supply formed parts using materials from approximately 150 micron up to 1.5mm in thickness, with forming sizes up to 750mm × 500mm.
This process is well suited to protective packaging, trays, display components and other precision-formed products where consistency and presentation are important.
Thick Sheet Thermoforming
For larger and more robust components, thick sheet thermoforming provides the strength and rigidity required for demanding applications. PFS Plastics can support projects using materials from around 1mm up to 12mm in thickness, with forming capabilities up to approximately 2.5m × 2m.
This process is commonly used for industrial housings, equipment covers, enclosures and other larger formed components.
CNC 5-Axis Trimming & Assembly
To achieve accurate finishing and clean edges, thermoformed components can be precision trimmed using CNC 5-axis cutting. This allows complex shapes and detailed features to be produced consistently and efficiently.
Where required, additional operations such as drilling, machining and light assembly can also be coordinated, enabling finished components to be supplied ready for installation or final use.
